Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
