Details of the Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.” The Police Inquiry The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
