The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The renowned video game developer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to.
