President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Mourners came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause refugee claims and halt issuing visas to possessors of travel documents.

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” he addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
